Radial Launcher: Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Radial Launcher ("Radial") is a home screen app for Android. This policy explains what information Radial uses and where it goes.
In short: Radial works on your phone. It has no accounts, no ads and no analytics of its own. Radial only sends an approximate location for the weather, if you switch the weather on. Google Play's billing component, which Radial uses to sell Radial Pro, talks to Google Play about purchases and sends Google its own diagnostic information.
Information that stays on your phone
Radial uses the following to work, and keeps it only on your phone:
- Your installed apps, to show and open them.
- Your settings, favourites, dock and recent apps, as you set them up in Radial.
- A wallpaper photo, if you choose one. Radial keeps its own copy for use as the wallpaper.
- Calendar, if you switch on the next-event widget and allow calendar access. Radial reads your next upcoming event to show it on the home screen.
- Notifications, if you allow notification access. Radial only sees which apps have notifications and when they arrived, to mark those apps. It never reads what notifications say.
- App usage, if you allow usage access and ask Radial to fill your favourites or dock with your most-used apps, or to sort apps by use. Radial reads how long each app has been on screen over the last two weeks. It doesn't see what you do in any app.
None of this is sent to us or anyone else.
Information Radial sends from your phone
Approximate location, for the weather. If you switch on the weather widget and allow location access, Radial sends your approximate location, rounded to about 1 km, to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) to get the local forecast (api.met.no). The request goes over an encrypted connection. It identifies the app as Radial Launcher, but not you. MET Norway's own privacy terms apply (see met.no). Radial keeps the forecast on your phone for up to 30 minutes. Switching the weather widget off stops this.
Purchases
Radial Pro is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment and your payment details; Radial never sees them. Radial only asks Google Play whether your Google account owns Radial Pro.
To do this, Radial includes Google's Play Billing library, a component made by Google. It exchanges purchase information (the products you've bought and their status) with Google Play. Like other Google Play components, it also sends Google diagnostic information about how it's working, such as whether billing requests succeed. Google receives this information, not us. It's covered by Google's privacy policy.
Backups
If your phone backs up app data (Android backup to your Google account), your Radial settings may be included, so they can be restored on a new phone. This is controlled in your phone's settings, and the backup is handled by Google.
Permissions
Each permission is optional, asked for only when you switch on the feature that needs it, and can be turned off at any time in Android settings:
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Approximate location | Weather widget |
| Calendar | Next-event widget |
| Notification access | Marking apps that have notifications |
| Usage access | Filling favourites and dock from your most-used apps, and sorting by use |
| Internet | Downloading the weather forecast |

Deleting your information
